HS 5-1000 by Haag-Streit Surgical - The new operation system light as feather, yet rock-solid

The HS 5-1000 is the newest operation system of HAAG-STREIT SURGICAL for neurosurgery. It comprises the servomotor-driven microscope HS Hi-R 1000 and the exceptionally solid, flawless, stable and mobile floor stand FS 5-33. Its modern features and unique SensoServo-Drive technology mark HS 5-1000 as the newest generation of the operation systems.

Enhanced stability and perfect damping
FS 5-33 embodies the latest technology for perfect damping
of vibrations and shocks. Notwithstanding a comprehensively
outfitted microscope and a fully extended rotating arm, the
operation system remains as stable as a breakwater rock.
After each thrust, it quickly returns to its stable position,
which makes the operation process quicker and stress-free.
At a push of the button, it can be automatically equilibrated
as well as returned to transport position, quickly and easily.
Long arm reach and great maneuverability
Equipped with a maximum arm reach of 1.87 meters, a swing radius of 540° and overhead capabilities, it allows work at the OR to be unencumbered. Its enormous capacity for mobility enables HS 5-1000 to fit into even small operating theatres. The innovative castors are fitted with a central locking system and the brakes can be applied both manually and at the push of the button. It can also be easily maneuvered round the corner by obstructing just one of the front wheels.

Intuitive handling
Feather-light with high precision and minimal exertion – that makes the SensoServo-
Drive unique. "HS Hi-R 1000 is the first microscope to be outfitted with this system. It is
supported by the "fly-by-wire"-technology, which is familiar owing to its use in the
steering mechanism for aeroplanes. Sensors and handles (SensoGrips) are used to convey the drag pressure applied by the operator at the servomotors to the hinges of the microscope. It feels a little like moving a robot. The physician need only apply a little pressure to change the position of the microscope", Wiebke Räthcke, the Director of Marketing explains.

Dr. Andrew Grande of the Neurosurgery Clinic at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis:
"I have used the HAAG-STREIT SURGICAL microscope HS Hi-R 1000 for the last 8 years. Personally, I believe it is the best microscope on the market for the following reason: The optics on the scope are the best I have ever used. This is combined with superior magnification, and phenomenal light. When performing cerebral bypass surgery this is the only microscope I will use."
