ESGdm urges Precaution
The last few days we have been hearing about the occurrence of human
cases of swine flu. At this time, the outbreak appears to most
serious in Mexico, where estimates of the death toll vary, but it
appears that at least 150 have died. Cases of swine flu A (H1N1)
virus infection have now been identified in at least 6 States in the
United States.
The CDC has activated its Emergency Operations Center to coordinate
the agency's response to this emerging health threat and yesterday
(Sunday) the Secretary of the Department Homeland Security, Janet
Napolitano, declared a public health emergency in the United States.
Here at ESGdm we are keeping an eye on this developing situation. It
is critical that people do not panic. However, there are some basic
measures that we feel everyone should take.
First, we have put together the "Flu Precaution Pack" the FPP. This
