Omron Shows Off Project Zero 2.0 Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor

Last year at CES, we had the opportunity to preview Project Zero, a new generation of Omron blood pressure monitors that take the commonly used and clinically-validated inflatable cuff method and fits it into a wrist-worn wearable.

At this year’s show, Omron was in town to show off Project Zero 2.0, the latest version of their next-generation prototype. This new version incorporates a new inflatable sensing cuff system and steel micro-threads in the wristband to ensure accurate readings. It also measures physical activity and sleep. Oh, and it wouldn’t be a 2.0 wearable without being thinner and lighter and receiving a nice makeover as well, with a design that looks like a stylish watch.

While Project Zero 2.0 is still in development, Omron announced that the first version, now called the HeartVue, will be available to purchase this spring.
