ActivForce Digital Dynanometer for Objective Arm Muscle Evaluation

ActivBody, a company headquartered in San Diego, California, is releasing an interesting digital dynanometer, which measures the power applied to it, for use in training, rehab, and other cases. The ActivForce device works with the company’s Active5 force measurement device and gives clinicians objective data when assessing muscle ability of the arms.

The readings are stored and analyzed within the accompanying dashboard, which can help to track changes in patient performance. Measures such as muscle endurance, maximum power, and left/right power symmetry are provided. These can be useful for post-operative assessment, throughout rehab, and to evaluate the performance of various training exercises on individual patients.

“We believe ActivForce will help increase efficiency, giving clinicians objective data in the palm of their hands,” says ActivBody CEO, Dan Stevenson, in a company press release. “Clinicians and patients will be able to track strength gains along the rehabilitation continuum, which is valuable for patient motivation and tracking and measuring progress.”
